Backpacker Magazine has a new feature that is fantastic for my clients and readers that are in a new town or traveling to a new locale. It’s a trip search feature that lets you find hiking trails near you by zip code. Just enter your zip code and the site will show you all the hikes other readers have entered.
By typing in Chicago, I found 14 hikes, some of which I have already tried so I know the site is pretty good about finding good spots to hike.
The feature also lets you find mountain biking, road biking and running trails in your area.
Try it out and see for yourself if it can help you plan your next outdoor hike, run or biking trip! Try Backpacker Magazine’s trip search feature here. You can also indicate the difficulty level of the hike or biking trail in advanced features.
